Review : Adonis Beauty Studio Tremella Masque
Also posted on my Instagram .
Few days ago when I was going to my favourite Korean restaurant for lunch (kimchi jjigae is awesome, guys), there was a roadshow of some sort where they gave out free masks if you vote for your favourite contestant in a beauty contest.
Free mask is free, so I voted and received this tremella mask. Also known as snow fungus, it is an ingredient I do not come across often, so I did some research (ie. I googled) and read up on it, apparently this mushroom extract can be used for skin lightening and accelerate wound healing. Interesting.
Sadly for me, from the moment the mask touched my face, it started stinging. Now, stinging is a warning sign that something in the mask essence does not agree with my face, and there might be dire consequences if I leave it on for half an hour. Plus, it was starting to get unbearable, so I removed it and washed off the essence. Now, I’d just left the shower and hadn’t applied anything else on my face. I’m not often sensitive to skincare ingredients, but it happens.
So I had a look at the mask ingredients. I don’t often bother cos I don’t get negative reactions often enough to be wary, and I found a very short but very scientific ingredient list:
Aqua , Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Chlorphenesin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Paraffinum Liquidum, Tremella Fuciforms Polysaccharide, PPG-3 Myristyl Ether, Sorbitan Laurate, Trideceth-6, Soluble Collagen, Benzoic Acid, Methylparaben, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Parfum
Nope. Still no idea what I’m sensitive to lol. Anyway, I’m glad I had a chance to try out a local mask since it’s definitely not something I would have bought!
